Meeting Location:  Amador Systems International

Dale passed out the by-laws and schedule of events for last year for the board.  Topics of the discussion were to set the schedule of events for 2002 and address letters from members.

 

Mary reported that we have a balance of about $5900

          There are 20 members from 2001 have not paid dues

Total membership 134

 

CCYC Kick-off party

$4000 allocated for the party

last year made $1100 on the raffle

last year’s band cost $700

We decided to shoot for February 2nd or 9th

Discussion of places to have party:

We considered many different locations – list of pros and cons.

There are a limited number of places to have it on the river.

 

          Delta King – pricey $26^

          Crawdads – crowded with 150 people

          Jazzman’s-pay for dockage

          SYC – pay for room, caterer, band

                    Pay for bartender, clean-up, linen, free dockage

                    Sherry motioned all agreed to have kick-off party at SYC

         

We decided to shoot for February 9th

Responsibilities for the Kick-off party are divided as follows:    

Dale will get band and caterer

          Danan will book date at SYC

          Decorations-Danan, Laura, Tammy, Maureen, Trish

          Blow up of roster for updating - Danan

          Raffle-the Austins

         

We need a way to meet new members. 

One suggestions was to have all new members in 2001 please stand up at the Kick-off party.

 

We continued with the calendar for the year and dividing up the responsibilities among the board members.

Tom says web site is great but bickering on the web is airing our dirty laundry for anybody to read.

Have moderator censor letters? 

Members only area?(Randy)password posted in newsletter for us to get into the forum.

Communication is the only way to keep away from dissention.

We need to have more membership meetings.

It was suggested that we have quarterly membership meetings.  Give a 30-day notice for meetings.

 

Sean wants a letter sent out in response to Frank’s letter to the membership stating that we do have by-laws.

Tom is getting a signed copy of the by-laws to show.

2 biggest issues by-laws and we voted ourselves in to office.

Dale will draft a letter.  Board will review it and then send it out to the membership.

Dale will e-mail letter to board members for review.

What do you think?  How about an increase in dues to do more activities on the beach?
