Board Meeting
Board Members Present:
Dale, Bobby, Paul, Randy, Tom, Sean, Buzz, Linda, Danan, Sherry
By-law committee members and general members present:
Mike Price, Tim Bunyan, Bob Wylie, Mike G.
Dale called meeting to order
The reason for the meeting is to approve the bylaws.
Any issues with the new by-laws – questions, concerns.
There was a round table discussion about the by-laws of which the board members read prior to the meeting. These were the questions and concerns:
Linda – Questioned the name of all-hands meeting, annual meeting.
Mike – We changed to all-hands and board meeting.
The committee cleaned up a lot of that to make it simple.
Linda – Questioned that voting by proxy is not allowed?
Mike – No, it’s not allowed.
People that don’t hear the discussion cannot vote. This is to get rid of voting by hear-say.
Linda – What happened to members at large?
Mike – We changed to directors.
We also changed to a family membership rather than just captain and first mate.
Tom – What about divorced couples?
Buzz –For that fee you get one membership.
Sean – We need to change the application to have a line for captain and first mate.
Buzz – The membership is for captain and first mate – whoever the first mate is.
The changes in the by-laws must be presented to the general membership in 2 meetings – one to hand them out and discuss, and the second to vote them in.
Make available on the net or call Danan for a copy. Bring your copy. All hands meeting will be held to discuss the new by-laws. June 27th (changed to August 1st) at Denny’s. second meeting will be held to vote. August 1st at Denny’s.
Dale will call Denny’s.
In the interest to saving mailing costs, they are available on the net, e-mailed to those who have e-mail you will get one sent to you. You can pick a copy up at ramp way or call Danan for a copy. There will also be copies at the all-hands meeting

We have a lot of expired memberships. Remove unpaid memberships after 90 days

Paul - What is our procedure for money?
Should all go to
Sherry processes the application and deposits the check.
Sherry e-mails Randy, Linda and Danan about the new member.
They do their jobs and send out the packets.
Randy gives Danan 10 burgees to put in packet with by-laws, roster, newsletter, welcome letter, membership cards.

Danan – We need a printer for the club.
The cost is $.75 a newsletter per member. Buzz will talk to partner to print out copies
