Meeting Minutes

All Hands Meeting

August 1, 2002

The reason for this meeting was to answer questions about the by-law revision.

Officers in attendance:

Dale Hepfner, Paul Hairell, Danan Myers, Sherry Junker, Linda Bunyan, Tom Keller and Ron Nycum

General members in attendance:

Bob Wylie, Tammy Hepfner, Mary Keller, Joseph Mayes, Sharon Mayes, Mike Gouweloos, Peter Robertson, Mike Price, and Tim Bunyan

Meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM

The by-laws were revised to clean up the wording, change and take out things that didn't need to be there.

Questions and answers:

In Article III it states that the dues will be $75.  If we want to change it don't we have to call a meeting?

We put the membership cost in so that a raise in the annual dues must be voted on by the membership and not just the board

In Article V it states that the officers will be voted on by October 31st.  Officers will take office on November 1st.  Will we be ready to do this this year?

We will try.

It also states that the directors - 2 past commodores - will serve for two years.  What if they don't want to serve?

Then they need to state this prior to election.

Dale stated that he received two e-mails from members that could not make the meeting.  They approved with the by-laws as revised.

Dues

It was brought up about how long to keep someone on the roster and a "member" after their dues expire.  Sherry shared that she sends out a reminder the month your dues are due.  She sends a second reminder the next month and a final one at the end of the second month.

The membership decided that after being 60 days delinquent, a member will be cut from the roster.

Other Business

Potluck

CCYC will provide Mimosas on Saturday morning of potluck.  Dale will serve with help from other board members.  Dale will purchase champagne, orange juice and cups.

There will be a work party on the beach August 3rd and 4th.  Participants will partake in a tri tip dinner on the beach.

Mowers, rakes, shovels and other tools will be provided.

We need raffle prizes.  Sherry volunteered to help get some.  Tom donated 6 bottles of wine.  Suggested that Dale ask West Marine for a donation.

There will be a costume party on Friday night.  Prizes will be for the best costume.

Peter is making the decorations.  There will be a work party at SYC on August 13th to help paint the decorations for the beach.

The big screen for Saturday night's movies will be built and painted on the beach.

Popcorn and hot dogs will be made for the movie.  Bob Wylie suggested calling Tom Blesso to donate the use of his popcorn machine.
