Commodore's Corner

Dear CCYC members,

Let me introduce myself for those of you that don’t know me.  My name is Bruce Moneymaker and I was elected your 2010 Commodore.  I boat with my wife, Susan and during the summers our twin girls Hailey and Emily.  We have a 24ft Bayliner named Sue-Sea and we are partners in a 31ft Sea Ray named Brenda with fellow members, Felix and Deborah Ramirez.   We met Felix and Deborah at a 2005 CCYC Memorial day weekend event when we rafted up next to them in the big CCYC raft-up.  We have been friends and now boating partners ever since.  Susan and I moved to Sacramento from Washington State in 2003.  We lived on our 24ft when we first came down here at Arrowhead Marina.  It was cozy and a real experience.  My point to all of this, is that through CCYC we have gained more and better friends than we ever had living our whole lives in Washington.

That is why CCYC is called “The Fun Club”, we welcome everyone!  I can’t tell you how many stories I have heard of boating newbie’s cruising up the American and seeing a raft-up of boats across the river, dancing and have a good time.  When they cruised by or circled around, they were invited to come on and join them.  If raft-ups are not your thing then there is always a large contingent of CCYC members sterned into Potluck beach usually onshore just abeam of the raft-up.
