Questions About CCYC Membership

bulletQ: Do you have to own a boat to join?
A: NO, but you'll want to after you've been on a few.  Becoming a member is a great way to make friends with boat owners and become familiar with boating before becoming a captain on your own vessel of any size.
bulletQ: Do you have to be rich to join a Yacht Club?
A: Absolutely not!  CCYC prides itself on being a friendly, "snob-free" yacht club with a very reasonable annual fee.
bulletQ: How many people are included per membership?
A: One boat and/or 1-2 people per membership are assumed.
bulletQ: What responsibilities will be expected of me?
A: To have fun in joining the club activities of your choosing.  Volunteers are always welcome, but never expected.
bulletQ: How much is the membership dues?
bulletA: Current membership dues are $120.00 per year.  This covers October 1 thru September 30.  New members that join after October pay a prorated dues based on $10.00 per month starting from the month following their application submission thru September 30.  Full membership dues are due on October 1.  New members are also assessed a one time application fee of $40.00 which also includes a club burgee.
bulletQ: What's included in my membership?
A: For your modest annual fee, you receive:
bulletInvitation to monthly Club Events
bulletHosted Annual Dinner Party
bulletReciprocal rights to other PICYA clubs
bulletRoster listing, published annually in Yachting Yearbook
bulletClub sponsored contribution to the RBOC
bulletQ: Is there a late fee assessed to delinquent membership dues?
bulletA: Yes.  All members have a 30 day grace period to pay their dues renewal.  Dues paid after the 30th of October shall be assessed a $10.00 late fee.  Dues not paid by November 30 shall be cause for deletion from the roster and said members must reapply for membership as a new member.
bulletQ: How long does the application process take?
bulletA: Approximately 4-6 weeks.  Once an application and associated fees are received the application is put before the board for review and approval.  Once approved, a new member packet will be mailed.  In the rare case that an application is denied all monies paid shall be returned to the applicant.
